• STAYING CURRENT
    Our goal is to ensure that each dog has a stress free and fun experience while staying with us. If your dog hasn't been to our daycare or boarding in the past 6 months to a year, we do require that your dog come and spend the day for at least a half day of daycare (at least 6 hours) to get re-acclimated to our environment (fees apply). We have noticed that dogs that visit our daycare frequently have minimal to no stress while boarding with us as they are familiar with our staff and facility. The more daycare visits you can schedule approaching your scheduled boarding stay will help make your dog’s stay less stressful and more fun!

    If it has been over a year since we’ve seen your pup for daycare or boarding we do require a new Evaluation.

    HEIGHTENED BOARDING WEEKENDS
    Holiday boarding incurs a $20/night Holiday Surcharge to days on/around our Holiday schedule (see our “Contact Us” page for a list of applicable Holidays).

    When we hit capacity for boarding, a non-refundable $50 holiday deposit is required at the time of booking to reserve your spot. This fee will be applied towards your boarding invoice.

    Heightened Holiday Boarding stays that require a deposit typically include: Memorial Day Weekend, Fourth of July, Labor Day Weekend, Thanksgiving Weekend, Christmas & New Years.

    INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
    Bark + Boarding typically follows the local school district and/or Federal Government weather-related closings, but service closings are decided on a case-by-case basis. Clients will be notified via email of any cancellations or delays. Bark + Boarding will make a determination no later than 10pm the night before inclement weather is predicted as to whether our office will either have a delayed opening or be closed for daycare and retail services. Dogs already in boarding will still receive full care, however dogs scheduled to be dropped off or picked up in the event of closing or delayed opening will need to be rescheduled.

    LATE PICK-UP POLICY
    At Bark + Boarding we understand things are going to come up! We get that you can't control traffic or weather related delays. If you think you'll run late for pick-up, please give us a call so we can make alternative arrangements as needed. We close promptly at 7:30pm Monday-Saturday & at 5pm on Sundays and Holidays. Bark + Boarding has a 5 minute grace period after closing. After that, a $10 late pick-up fee is applied for pick-ups 6-15 minutes after closing and a $20 late pick-up fee for pick-ups 16-30 minutes after closing. Any dogs still here 30 minutes after closing will be boarded.

    For example, on Tuesdays we close at 7:30pm. Pick-ups between 7:30-7:35pm incurs no additional fee. A pick-up between 7:36-7:45pm incurs a $10 fee & a pick-up between 7:46-8:00pm incurs a $20 fee. Any dogs left at 8pm will be boarded.

    SENIOR DOG POLICY
    Owner agrees to bring any senior dog (dogs who are 10+ years) in for a day of daycare at least one month prior to any boarding stay to deem whether Bark + Boarding is still a good fit. The health and well being of senior dogs can change drastically in short periods of time. We want to ensure that between the time of our assessment and the scheduled boarding stay that there aren't any drastic health changes. The closer to the boarding stay that we can assess the senior dog the better!

    PACKAGE REFUND POLICY
    No package refunds after 30 days from the date of purchase.

    For package refunds within 30 days of purchase, daycare days will be charged at the full daycare rate.

    TOP DOG MEMBERSHIP CHANGE/CANCELLATION POLICY
    Notice of cancellation or change to Membership level must be received by the 15th of the month for the next month's Membership.

  • CANCELLATION POLICY
    Structured Daycare must be canceled by close of business the day prior. Any cancellation made after that time will be charged the full price of Structured Daycare.

  • CANCELLATION POLICY
    All same day cancellations will incur a $10 cancellation fee. Any no call/no show appointments will be charged 50% of the requested service at the time of the missed appointment. We require a credit card on file for all grooming clients.

    LATE ARRIVALS
    If you are going to be more than 15 minutes late for your appointment we will need to reschedule you for another time. If you are concerned about your ability to make your appointment time please give us a call in advance to discuss. Depending on availability, we may be able to accommodate a later appointment on the same day. Being on time for your appointment is important as it ensures the groomer can start your dogs groom as planned and will be available to greet the next client when they arrive for their scheduled appointment.

    REFUND POLICY
    There are no refunds for services completed; however, we are happy to provide additional cuts or edits to the groom to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • IN-HOME REGISTRATION
    Want to get started? In-Home Registrations are $25 and are usually scheduled Monday through Friday between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. and are an opportunity for you to meet with one of our experienced sitters or managers to ask any questions and fill out all the proper paperwork. Registrations during morning hours and on weekends can be accommodated on a case-by-case basis.

    Are you a current client moving to a new home? Did you get a new dog in addition to Fluffy? We do require a new In-Home Registration to get the most up-to-date information and go over any new instructions with you.

    INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
    Bark + Boarding typically follows the FCPS and/or Federal Government weather-related closings, but service closings are decided on a case-by-case basis. Clients will be notified via email of any cancellations or delays. Bark + Boarding will make a determination no later than 8am on whether we are able to do mid-day walks that day.

    For morning pet taxis, a determination will be made by 10pm the night before the scheduled visits as to whether or not those services will be cancelled. For all other pet sitting visits, a determination will be made no later than 8am on the day of the visits. Please provide an emergency contact (which you will be able to update through your Time to Pet client portal) who we may contact in the event that we are unable to reach your home to care for your pets. If you do not have someone who may be able to help care for your pet in the event that we are unable to make it to your home please contact the office immediately so that we can discuss other options and make a plan for the upcoming weather together.

    LAST MINUTE SURCHARGE POLICY
    For any visits requested for same or next business day, an additional $15 surcharge per visit requested will be added. Please be advised that requests that come in after we are closed are considered to be requested the next business day.

    For example, a visit request for a Wednesday visit that comes in at 7am on a Monday will NOT incur a surcharge; however, the same visit request that comes in at 8pm does incur a surcharge as we close at 7:30pm.

    IN-HOME PACKAGE POLICY
    Packages are for those customers that would like to purchase pet sitting visits in bulk, in advance, to receive a discount on the standard rate.

    Packages cannot be applied towards recurring midday dog walks, only to a la carte pet sitting and are good for 6 months from the date of first use.

    IN-HOME SERVICES BILLING POLICY
    For all pet sitting and dog walking requests, we require a payment method to be kept on file in order to schedule services. Recurring mid day dog walks (on a set monthly schedule) will be billed on a monthly basis. Payment will automatically be processed on the last business day of each month for the upcoming month of walks and any overages incurred during the previous month.

    For all other pet sitting and dog walking requests, payment will be due on the first day of service. Clients are able to log into their account to pay online, or call/email the office to have the card on file charged. If the invoice has not been paid by the last day of service, your payment method on file will automatically be charged.

    Any balance that remains due 14 days after the last date of service will incur a $10 late fee.

    CANCELLATION POLICY
    Morning Visits: Must be cancelled by close of business the day before the visit to avoid a charge.

    Midday, Evening & Late Night Visits: Must be canceled by 9am the day of the visit to avoid a charge.

    Recurring Midday Dog Walks: Walks can be canceled up until 9am the day of the walk. All credits will be applied to the next month’s walk invoice. If no invoice (aka walks are canceled) all credits will remain on client account to be used toward any future service or retail purchase.

    Clients will be charged FULL PRICE for all visits not cancelled according to this guideline.

  • TRAINING CANCELLATION POLICY
    Payment, in full, is required at the time of booking.
    Please note: no refunds will be issued for any cancellations made 2 weeks, or less, from the class start date.
