Beat the Heat with Pawsome Pupsicles: A Homemade Delight!

Hey there, dog lovers! Summer has officially arrived, and we all know how important it is to keep our furry friends cool and refreshed during these sunny days. If you've ever come across Bark + Boarding at one of our amazing events, you've likely encountered our yummy homemade dog ice cream cups. Well, today is your lucky day because we're going to spill the beans and share our top-secret Pupsicle recipe with you! These frozen dog treats are a breeze to make, and trust us when we say, dogs absolutely adore them.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt

  • 1 cup natural peanut butter

  •  ½ cup water

  • Ice cube trays or condiment cups with lids

  •  Blender

The Recipe:

  1. In your blender, combine the plain Greek yogurt, natural peanut butter, and water. Blend until the mixture becomes a smooth and creamy concoction that will make your pup's taste buds dance with joy.

  2. If the mixture appears a bit too thick to easily pour, no worries! Simply add a little more water until it reaches the desired consistency for effortless pouring into your chosen ice cube tray or condiment cups.

  3. Pour the yogurt mixture into the awaiting ice cube trays or condiment cups. Let your artistic side shine by selecting fun shapes to make the treats even more appealing to your pup.

  4. Exercise patience (it's worth it, we promise!). Pop the tray or cups into the freezer and let them chill overnight. This ensures the perfect texture and temperature for your pup's delightful indulgence.

Variety is the Spice of Doggie Life:

Who says our canine friends can't have options? If you want to surprise your pup with a variety of flavors, you can easily substitute the peanut butter with other tasty alternatives. Here are a few suggestions to get your creative juices flowing:

  • Pumpkin Puree: Swap the peanut butter for pumpkin puree, creating a Pupsicle that’s loaded with digestive benefits.

  • Chicken Broth: For the pups who go wild for the savory side of life, replace the water with chicken broth.

  •  Natural Plain Applesauce: Sweet and tangy, this fruity twist will have your pup licking their chops and begging for more.

  • Blueberries: Bursting with antioxidants and natural sweetness, blending in some blueberries will make your Pupsicles a berry delightful treat!

  • Banana: Go bananas with this potassium-packed fruit that adds a creamy texture and a tropical touch to the mix.

Put on your apron, grab that blender, and get ready to create a frosty delight that will have tails wagging for more. Happy summer, and enjoy making these pawsitively delightful Pupsicles!
